We are a small urban garden nestled in the Riverside community of Jacksonville, FL. Life wasn't always like this! The seed that started us out on the journey of urban farming was actually planted back in 2016. Back then, my wife and I (Krystal and Davey = Kravey) were staying busy with careers in healthcare and Krystal was pregnant with our first child. At this time in our lives, we both liked staying fit and enjoyed doing long distance foot races. Personally, training runs were a chance for me to sort out life, pray and sometimes think of nothing at all. However, on one particular run, I felt a divine calling to start taking better care of myself. In reality, I was a middle aged man and on the verge of being a dad again. A healthier lifestyle change was necessary for us to ensure we would be available for our children in the future. Ultimately, it was the Lord who had shown us that we were not only going to start eating healthier, but we were going to learn how to grow our own food too. Here we are now in 2024 , raising three children and still answering the call to grow healthy nutritious foods for our family and community!
At Kravey Gardens we are committed to providing the freshest, organically grown produce for our community. We believe that healthy soil leads to healthier foods! We utilize a no till approach to growing our food trying not to disturb the garden's soil web . To help contribute to the life of our soil we utilize green fertilizers, natural amendments and compost while never using chemicals, synthetic herbicides or pesticides.
Kravey Gardens specializes in microgreens and leafy greens along with your garden variety produce such as kale, turnips, carrots, tomatoes, radish, beets, herbs edible flowers, and more.
